Health Benefits

  • The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a law that helps people without health insurance through their employer purchase coverage.

  • BadgerCare Plus is income based health insurance available through the State of Wisconsin.

  • Wisconsin's Katie Beckett  Program is a special eligibility process that allows certain children with long-term disabilities, mental illness, or complex medical needs, living at home with their families, to obtain a Wisconsin ForwardHealth Medicaid card.

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a health insurance program, which allows eligible children with long-term disabilities, mental illnesses or complex medical needs to obtain a Wisconsin ForwardHealth Medicaid card and supplemental income.

  • Children’s Long Term Support (CLTS) Waivers provide funding for children living with their families who need a certain level of care in one of three areas of disability: physical disability, developmental disability, severe emotional disability. The CLTS Waiver Program allows states to use Medicaid funding in ways that are more flexible. CLTS funds may be used for vehicle modifications, respite care, therapeutic equipment, and other types of approved equipment and services.

  • Medicaid Transportation:  If you have Medicaid coverage, which includes BadgerCare, and you need a ride to a Medicaid approved appointment you can receive free transportation or be reimbursed if using your own vehicle.
