Early Childhood

The first years of a child’s life are crucial for their development. From birth to age five, children will reach milestones in playing, learning, and speaking, acting and moving. Talk to your child’s doctor about any questions or concerns you have about their development. If you have questions, please contact the Children's Resource Center-Northeast at 877-568-5205 and check out the following resources:

  • The Birth to 3 Program is committed to serving children under the age of 3 with developmental delays and disabilities and their families.
  • Visit Act Early Wisconsin to learn about healthy childhood development, early signs of autism and other developmental disorders, the importance of routine developmental screening and timely early intervention whenever there is a concern.
  • After a child turns three, each school district in Wisconsin is responsible for providing Special Education and Related Services to Children with Disabilities.
