Early Childhood

The first years of a child’s life are crucial for his or her development. From birth to age five, children will reach milestones in playing, learning, and speaking, acting and moving. Talk to your child’s doctor about any questions or concerns you have about his or her development.

  • Visit Act Early Wisconsin to learn about healthy childhood development, early warning signs of autism and other developmental disorders, the importance of routine developmental screening and timely early intervention whenever there is a concern.

  • The Wisconsin Birth to 3 Program is committed to serving children under the age of 3 with developmental delays and disabilities and their families. For more information about Birth to 3 or to see if your child qualifies for services visit Wisconsin's birth to 3

  • After a child turns three, each school district in Wisconsin is responsible for providing Special Education and Related Services to Children with Disabilities.
